SUMMERHOUSE
SUMMERHOUSE is a small-scale building game and a love letter to the feeling of long lost summer afternoons. Craft a neighbourhood of tiny, beautiful lived-in homes in a variety of settings: the sea, the city, or the mountains. While there are some little secrets to uncover, there are no rules, and you can’t win or lose. Just chill out, build to your heart’s content and soak up the atmosphere.
If relaxation and creation are your thing, this is a game for you :)

Making Of
SUMMERHOUSE was my first solo project which was a huge challenge, but also immensely fun and rewarding. It meant I had to do everything, from the visuals to gameplay programming, sound design and music. I collaborated with UK publisher Future Friends for marketing and release strategy and could not have done a better job. A dream collaboration from my perspective!

Ingame Models
The challenge with SUMMERHOUSE's ingame models was to find a coherent style that looked good pixelated, was easy to produce, worked in several different color palettes and had enough detail to not only represent a wide variety of everyday objects, but only give them character.

Sound Design & Music
My goal with the sound design and music for SUMMERHOUSE was to immediately put people in a relaxed space and at the same time, create a strong coherent audio identity for the game. I wanted SUMMERHOUSE's SFX to feel like an old tape-deck, with big plastic buttons, mechanical whirring and a general feel of 90s nostalgia.
The ambience relies heavily on calm nature sounds and is accompanied by some minimalist piano pieces I recorded on my electric piano.
